Many of our vehicles have previous collision damage. They have been professionally repaired to a standard of quality that has enabled them to be deemed road worthy and safe as determined by a British Columbia Provincial Inspection. This inspection is completed by a Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure Approved Designated Vehicle Inspection Facility. All of the vehicles include photos that were taken prior to the repairs being completed. This is in order for the vehicle to be fully documented and to be as transparent as possible to our customers. The advantage for customers wishing to purchase vehicles with prior repairs, is that they can obtain a reliable, safe, quality vehicle for substantially reduced cost.
Since Port Kells Collision & Auto Sales is an ICBC Approved Automotive Body Shop, and we have a Motor Dealer License, as well as Sales Person License, we are in a very unique position to offer our customers access to low-cost and wholesale priced vehicles that the general population isn’t privy to. We can obtain vehicles from other dealers at wholesale prices, ICBC stolen/recovered vehicles, and vehicles ICBC has deemed to costly to repair through the conventional methods at the time of assessment.
ICBC Stolen/Recovered Vehicles, are vehicles that were stolen, the owner was paid out for their loss, then at a later date the vehicle was recovered. The condition of these recovered vehicles vary on a case by case basis. Some are returned in pristine condition, some are missing keys, others have minor body and/or mechanical damage. The vehicle is given a branded “rebuilt” title, no matter what condition it is recovered in. Irregardless, the advantage for the next buyer via an ICBC Approved Automotive Body Shop with a Motor Vehicle Dealer License such as Port Kells Collision & Auto Sales, is significant costs savings, and in some cases allows buyers to obtain classes of vehicles that they never thought they would be able to afford with their budget.
Vehicles that have been deemed to costly to repair through the conventional methods at the time of assessment by ICBC are given a “Salvage” title. This basically means that structurally, the vehicle is in a sound rebuild-able condition. ICBC Approved Automotive Body Shops, like Port Kells Collision & Auto Sales, have exclusive access to obtain these vehicles. Some of them only have very light damage, but because of their age, repairs weren’t done. Some of the vehicles can have considerable aesthetic damage, while still being able to be safely repaired. Once the repairs are complete, the vehicles have a professional alignment, and receive a British Columbia Provincial Inspection, in order to be an ICBC certified “rebuilt” titled vehicle. Significant cost savings are passed on to our customers in their new ownership of a safe and reliable vehicle.
All of our vehicles come with a lifetime warranty on the workmanship of the body repairs and a one year warranty on the vehicle’s power train as long as you own the vehicle.
